Do you know the difference between a cruise ship that sails on the ocean and a cruise ship that sails on the river? Or you only know that cruise ships only sail at sea. This Lasolas will explain a little about the differences between ocean cruises and river cruises.

Cruise ships or tourism ships have been identical to sailing in the ocean or the vast ocean, actually there are also cruise ships that sail on large rivers. Most of these river cruises are on the European Continent which does have many large rivers. These cruise ships both function for tourism ships that carry passengers, but the two types of cruise ships are different.

The obvious difference is that cruise ships that sail on the ocean are larger than cruise ships that sail on rivers. Because of this size, ocean cruise ships have a larger capacity than river cruise ships. Ocean cruise ships have many facilities on board such as hospitals, casinos, nightly shows and other entertainment venues. While River cruise ship does not have these facilities, in addition to its small size, the time of the passengers is more spent on land. River cruise ships for their cruise time in certain seasons, and do not sail in winter. As for the sea cruise ship, the cruise time does not know the season, even though it is winter this ship will still sail.

The view obtained on a sea cruise ship is a vast ocean, and for river cruise ships it is not only the view of the sea that can sometimes be seen, but also the view of the villages we pass through, even passengers can stop at these villages.

For foodies, you don't have to worry about the food served for both sea and river cruises. Some river cruises provide one or two dining venues with open-air dining at certain times. Breakfast and lunch are usually served buffet style, and if you wish you can still order the main course from the waiter. And for dinner, gourmet a la carte dishes are offered. River cruise ship meals are more localised, including regional dishes served with local drinks.

Ocean cruises have more dining venues. The main dining room is a la carte and there are many snack and fast food venues. Drinks are usually not included, although drink packages can be purchased.

Now that's the difference between sea cruises and river cruises. So, you travellers want to travel by sea cruise or river cruise?
